Love in Action

I really loved opening each heart and reading each sacred attribute of love, and then pausing and finding each one inside my own heart and being.
I particularly loved that the central channel of the leaf was "dharma." I’ve been contemplating dharma and how, when we are acting from integrity, it feels to me like a straight line. I experience it physically as a straight line in my spine, and in a larger sense, as the backbone of the universe, supporting and protecting everything that depends on it to grow. In this leaf, it is dharma that holds all the great hearts and virtues together. Dharma is the support and foundation of love in action.

A new layer of light snow fell here overnight. As I walked out of the barn after chores this morning, I thought, “I have never seen snow sparkle so!” I stood for some time gazing in wonder at the unfathomable number of snowflakes, each one different, all sparkling together in the sun.
Back at the house, I discovered Love in Action and the commentary, and I realized, “This is why we love to see sparkling so much! It’s a universally visible manifestation of the abhasas, those luminous flashes of Consciousness! We are all like those snowflakes!”
Thanks to all whose seva created this wonderful posting.

Opening the Siddha Yoga path website and embracing, more than looking at, these delicate yet powerful pulsating hearts, my own heart began pulsating intensely at the same rhythm, erasing all differentiation. It was blissful. The more hearts I opened, the stronger my ecstasy grew. I was silent, full of contentment.
As I contemplated this experience of touching my own nature, I realized that the attributes of love are not only in me but are who I am. What I understand from Gurumayi is that I must let them blossom. Love in Action is the key. I decided to take time to write down all the attributes to increase my understanding of them and to contemplate what actions and attitudes are needed to cultivate them.
The first step is to open myself and accept the reality of being those attributes—a magnificent step, bringing tears to my eyes. I am so moved! The Guru`s gift, an unending process of generosity. May I be vigilant and loving enough to embrace it fully, letting it shine.
Thank you, Gurumayi.

I had a wonder-filled Love in Action day with the throbbing heart as my source as well as my inspiration. I followed Swami Shantananda’s commentary on Love in Action and, having received the wide-ranging attributes of love, reminded myself of their connection with the heart as I engaged in various daily activities. I experienced every moment of my day transforming into love. At the end of the day, with a heart full of gratitude for this cherished gift, I offered puja to my beloved Sadguru.
Many thanks to the Guru for illuminating the knowledge of the scriptures and teaching us how to mine the love within.

This has been a super fun way to engage with the website and Gurumayi’s teaching on love in action with my 10-year-old daughter. She’s the one who discovered you could click on the pulsating hearts to reveal more surprises and teachings.
We played a game to see who could discover all the hidden messages behind the beating hearts. She got them all, of course. And she even discovered that the center veins of the leaf revealed more teaching. All throughout our "game," we were speaking together about the virtues that Gurumayi gave us to contemplate. In this way, we certainly practiced love in action.

I am home on a "snow day" and read Swami Shantananda’s commentary very carefully. I clicked on different shapes within the image and saw the gorgeous attributes of love.
My desk faces the slider window in my house and I can gaze out at the snow as it falls. It reminds me of the passage in Swami Shantananda’s book, Splendor of Recognition, where he refers to the abhasas as being like snowflakes that appear to arise out of nowhere. Now I understand that the "nowhere" they arise from and disappear back into is the true hrdaya, the Heart of Consciousness, which exists between the inbreath and outbreath.
What a truly divine gift on this full-moon day! Our Guru is boundless in her grace.

As I sit here clicking on the hearts, I feel a world of peace and softness revealing itself. The sweet humming within fills my heart with a soft, pulsating sweetness. A soft ache, alive and vibrant.
The measured pacing of the attributes of love, coming to life one by one, is leading me to fully accept their grace. My whole being is blending with these attributes. So many dimensions to Love in Action and they are all leading to a joyful Heart. I am blessed.
I send many thanks and much love to Gurumayi.

When I was watching this heart visual again and again, what caught my attention was the way this big heart and the many small hearts were pulsating and vibrating with the same rhythm.
Then I clicked on the heart with the double symbol of infinity, and my heart said, "This is your infinite love for your Guru." The next time I clicked, I read dharma. And as other words appeared, one by one, I saw that our hearts are all pulsating in the same rhythm when we put into practice all these virtues taught by our beloved Guru.

When I began clicking around on the hearts within the heart, I arrived at the seva heart—and I thought my heart would stop! Seva has been my main practice for many years now, and I have recently become aware of just how transforming a practice it has been for me. So this beautiful, bird-like, fiery heart perfectly represents the essence of seva for me.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for visually representing what I have been experiencing in my practice of seva.

Looking at this amazing image, I become aware of love arising from love and subsiding back into love. A pure love that wants nothing and needs nothing, that lives in all of us. A love that connects me to the blissful stillness within. It reminds me of the images in Anandatse Dohi, Tukaram’s abhanga: the ecstatic "waves of bliss," the limitless ocean of bliss, that is this love which abides within all.
How fortunate I am to have Gurumayi as my teacher, who lives this teaching and bestows the experience of this pure love.
Thank you, beloved Gurumayi!

This morning my husband and I looked at the Siddha Yoga path website together and reveled in the gift of this overflowing heart—overflowing with teachings and meaning, overflowing with love and with beauty. And I loved the title: Love in Action.
I thought, "Yes, it’s important to put our love into action." Then we went outside to shovel the heavy, icy snow that the city snow plow had barricaded our driveway with. As we shoveled, I asked my husband, "Is this love in action?"
Our answer came an hour later when the job was done and we looked down the driveway and saw a perfect white snow heart that had seemingly appeared out of nowhere. We smiled broadly at each other, and once again marveled at the play of Shakti.
Thank you, Gurumayi, and all the wonderful sevites, for this uplifting experience.

It is morning time in Sydney. A gentle rain is falling after months of dryness. My heart feels moistened just as the gentle rain is moistening the earth: such a beautiful profound elucidation of the path of the heart. I am always amazed by the experience of reading and hearing the Truth. How deeply it touches the core of my being.
Thank you, Gurumayi. Thank you, Swami Shantananda, and all the sevites involved in creating this profound experience.

I got home from satsang last night and opened the Siddha Yoga path website before going to bed. As I was watching the heart-shaped leaf pulsate, my attention was involuntarily brought to my breath and it was as if it were watching and listening to my own heart silently beating. As I became immersed in this experience, the most exquisite silence and stillness arose both within and without. I experienced the entire universe pulsating within the image, as if the image, as a manifestation of the Guru’s love, was the heart of the universe.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for the many unexpected forms your teachings take and the direct experiences they make possible.

This morning, after viewing the website’s homepage heart image and reading the commentary, I sat for meditation. Soft rain fell outside my window and birds sang. Immediately a sense of profound fullness and quiet filled my being. The rising and subsiding of my breath felt so powerful yet so gentle and my awareness of my body pulsed even beyond the body’s physical limits. From this space arose AUM and Gurumayi’s Message for 2014.
Thank you so much, Gurumayi, for giving this experience.

What a sublime and fun experience just "playing” with the heart. It is like a game: click here and see what will be revealed. Then other hearts start pulsating. Click, click, click. The heart is alive and filled with love. It pulsates and breathes love.
The art is like a yantra—a visual mantra. As I clicked on each breathing heart, a new name/quality of love arises. It appears just long enough to imbibe it—like a dharana or sutra. As it disappears, I find that quality, that experience, my memories, my longing for more of that washing over and throughout my being.
I love this heart game of love and I am still playing it. What a beautiful gift of love!
Thank you, Gurumayi.

My own heart swells with gratitude to Gurumayi and to the Siddha Yoga teachers for these glorious gifts of online satsang.
I love the Pratyabhijnahrdayam sutras, and today’s joyful, pulsating heart artwork with the accompanying commentary has profoundly enriched my understanding of and feeling for sutra three as a living gift of Chiti Shakti’s creativity in my daily life. How wonderful that, through Guru’s grace, we can all experience this spanda! I now feel that I can view life’s diversity with a greater sense of adventure and connectivity.

When the heart image appeared on the screen, immediately the words, "Dance, my heart! Dance in ecstasy…" arose from within. That feeling has remained with me throughout the day.

What an exquisite, vibrant, alive experience of the heart! I felt like I was on a treasure hunt as I clicked on each pulsating heart, revealing another beautiful attribute of love. With each attribute pulsating into life, my heart became fuller and fuller.
I am going to spend time with each attribute and bring it into manifestation as I go about my day, bringing the fullness of the experience of love into action.
Thank you, Gurumayi, your love is always so tangible and ever-present. The artwork is magnificent and captivating with such depth of meaning.
Thank you to everyone who brought this experience of love to all of us.
With a full heart forever grateful!

Thank you for this beautiful image of love. I took time to light up each of the hearts and their messages, and I felt so much gentleness and so much interconnection between the attributes they carry. This practice helped me to be more in touch with love.
I was thinking this morning that I had to solve a difficulty with one of my relatives. This introspective exercise gave me the courage to talk quietly with her just by following the direction of my heart.
Thank you, Gurumayi, for giving me the guidance and the forward momentum to put love into action.

It is 3:43 a.m. as I write this in Melbourne, Australia. I am sitting enveloped by the dark yet filled with light. The first word that pulsated in front of me was friendliness.
Moving through this exquisite heart, I heard my own heart beating with gratitude. How much time would something so beautiful, so far-reaching have taken to design, to create? The creativity and beauty of this heart invite my heart to dance so freely.
Thank you so much. I have never had so much fun being curious—about love.

I have never been so conscious of the arising and subsiding of the pulsations of my heart. With this new teaching, I am so much more aware of my heart and the love that I am able to give and receive. Love is all there is.

My heart leapt with joy as I saw the artwork, and I was filled with so much gratitude as its significance was explained so beautifully to us by Swamiji.
As I returned to gaze upon the artwork, I was struck by the beauty of the pulsating hearts. We have been given a living teaching of love.
Thank you, Gurumayi, from a heart filled with love.

When I opened up my computer, I experienced once again the prasad of the Siddha Yoga path website. As I absorbed Swamiji’s commentary and clicked on the magical pulsating hearts, I was struck by how my computer has become transformed by the miraculous nature of this website.
It occurs to me that there is an analogy here: Just as my computer was once a mere instrument of technology and has now been transformed into a conduit of pulsating shakti, so, too, my once quite ordinary human life has been transformed.
With love to you, Shri Gurumayi.
