One night I read these verses before going to sleep. That night I had a dream in which I saw Gurumayi and she called my name. At that moment I felt all external reference points drop away, and I was surrounded by a field of golden light.

This experience made me realize just how potent of a channel for Gurumayi’s grace the Siddha Yoga path website is.

From my point of view, these exquisite verses from Jnaneshvari describe so gracefully how the divine light of the Guru’s grace ignites and transforms seekers. It reminds me of my own experience of shaktipat.

One morning in meditation, I envisioned a ball of radiant light like the sun slowly moving towards me. The light merged with my heart, and my awareness became suffused with this divine light. Tears of joy streamed down my face as I repeated, “I am the light, I am the light, I am the light.”

I lingered in a state of profound peace and bliss for several hours after this experience. I felt my true Self had been revealed through the divine light of Shri Guru’s grace. For this I am forever grateful.

As the glorious sun was rising, I felt Gurumayi’s blessings and grace rising from my toes to the top of my head, drawing me inward to a deep and peaceful state of meditation. What a wonderful way to begin the day!

I found this video to be remarkable. Coupled with the verses from Jnaneshvari, it encompasses absolutely everything for me, including the ineffable nature of reality and the ubiquity of divine compassion and light.

    New York, United States

In reading these beautiful verses, I was able to understand the reverence for the light of the sun in spiritual terms. It is very moving, and I look forward to reading it again and feeling the truth of the words.

Reading and contemplating the meaning of the first verse about the Guru “causing the lotus of nonduality to unfold its petals,” I realized that a lotus is opening within me.

I feel so lucky and blessed to have found this path.

After reading the verses of Jnaneshvari and watching this video of the glorious sun rising, I opened myself to its grace. As I did so, I had the sensation that I was absorbing the sun in my being. I sensed its presence within, expansive and warm. I felt its benevolent energy and radiant companionship spread to all the cells in my body.

I am thankful for the presence of Gurumayi’s grace in the form of the sun in my being.

    Connecticut, United States

Watching this sunrise, I experienced that a sun is also rising within me and my whole being is illuminated inside and outside by the radiant light of my own Self. Watching became a meditation for me by itself.

I am thankful that Gurumayi ji is with me in the form of this inner light.

    Vadodara, India

As I watched the sun rising in the video, I glanced out of my window for a second and saw a pair of swallows dancing across my field of vision. As they danced, I felt that they represented my Guru, Gurumayi, and me, dancing in split-second consonance, in harmonious accord.

    Auckland, New Zealand

As I was watching the beautiful sun in the video, after some time the spherical sun itself was nowhere in my vision; instead, what I was seeing was the golden light across the entire screen. When I closed my eyes, I could see that light in my heart, which was shining with a shimmering, golden light. It was a beautiful experience that took me deep within.

I am grateful for this deep experience of the sun god and for experiencing that the Guru’s light shines within me, always nurturing me and guiding me.

    Lucknow, India

As I allowed the mesmerizing words of Jnaneshvar’s poetic commentary to wash over my being, I was filled with a deep stirring in my heart.

It was, however, just this morning—while reciting Shri Guru Gita, and as my room filled with the radiant light of the sun—that I thought of Gurumayi and realized the meaning of Jnaneshvar’s words for me: as the Guru’s luminous grace fills my being, I too become that luminosity, which is my very nature.

    San Felipe, Mexico

The weather is cold and grey here in London. But as I watched the video and read the words from Jnaneshvari, the sun rose in my heart.

I am grateful for being reminded of what is already there, any time of the year—the light of the Self is always shining!

    London, United Kingdom

While I was watching the sunrise on the screen, I remembered the sunrise in Gurudev Siddha Peeth. When I was there as a visiting sevite, I loved to go to Dakshin Kashia beautiful field there, every morning and watch the sunrise. I felt the divine and benevolent power of the sun, and this prayer would arise in my mind:

“Oh, benevolent sun, may your radiant rays, which travel around this planet, make all the people, plants, and animals happy and content through your touch.”

Today, while watching this video, I felt this prayer come back to me. My heart became very happy.
