Whenever I chant Narayana, I feel like I’m floating on a scintillating ocean, being rocked back and forth by the soothing, comforting waves. This wonderful feeling leads me into a deep pool of love and joy in my heart.

As I chanted this beautiful namasankirtana, I closed my eyes and imagined being in Gurudev Siddha Peeth, chanting with Gurumayi and a group of Siddha Yogis. A feeling of really being there arose! This released so much love and longing in me. Chanting with Gurumayi is just so wonderful.

As I chant Narayana, I feel waves of ecstasy filling me, reminding me that every day, every moment is a new beginning. My heart feels expanded.

I feel welcomed to 2023 with this very sweet namasankirtana, Narayana. When I listen to it, I get an image of a crib and a mother putting her baby to sleep, reassuring it with her song and her presence. Like the child in my image, I feel protected and loved by my Guru.

I will let the melodies of Narayana resonate in me throughout the day so I can feel filled with God’s love.

This is a chant for my soul! Whenever I listen to this chant, it tugs at my heart and I feel the presence of my Guru. On days when I feel restless or uneasy, I simply play this chant to usher in a sense of my Guru’s comforting embrace and a feeling of being loved.

For me, this is the most beautiful chant in the world! As a child in India, when someone in our neighborhood passed on, the family hosted singers for a week or even forty days in honor of the departed. One of the chants they performed was Narayana. While everyone around me sat steeped in sadness, I felt happy. I did not understand why. It was only later on in life, when I heard Baba and Gurumayi chant Narayana, that I understood. Hearing this chant, I have the feeling I am listening to the universe singing the praises of God and the Guru.

I went for my weekly visit with a ninety-three-year-old lady who is like a grandmother to me. She asked me if there was some news about yoga, because she knows that I’m engaged in the Siddha Yoga path.

I shared with her that Narayana is on the website, and I read her the text and invited her to listen to the chant. After just a few seconds of listening, she told me “It’s wonderful. This is peace… peace.” I said, “Yes, this is the power of Siddha Yoga chanting.”

As I looked into her eyes, I experienced Gurumayi’s presence—I was in satsang.

Thank you for making this excerpt from the recording of Narayana available on the website. I could feel the warmth of the sun inside my heart as I listened and chanted along with Gurumayi this morning. And I made an intention to chant this namasankirtana for a few minutes each day before meditation as a way to invoke blessings and protection for the earth and all her creatures.

I have always loved chanting this namasankirtana. Inevitably, the waves of its melody, set to the beautiful Prabha raga, have had a particularly calming effect on me, almost as if I were being held in the protective hand of Lord Narayana himself.
