I was seated at the breakfast table, laden with heavy thoughts about the state of our world. Then I began listening to the namasankirtana Krishna Govinda . Right there and then, in my kitchen, I started to sing and dance. Gone were my heavy thoughts!

In that moment of joy and lightness, I reflected on how there has never been a period of absolute peace in this world. But there have always been saints who experienced paradise on Earth and offered this gift to those who chanted along with them.

Chanting in my kitchen with the morning sun streaming through the curtains, I remember who I am. Thank you, Gurumayi. Chanting with you is satyarasa—full of the bliss of the Truth! I begin today with the remembrance that I am great.

As I listened to this chant—one of my favorites—in my office during break time, I was drawn naturally into a meditative state. I visualized the scene of Krishna’s birthday in which people were dancing with joy, distributing prasad, and greeting each other.

Thank you very much, Gurumayi ji, for the chant and the gift of this visualization.

I listen, and feel so much happiness. I feel Lord Krishna dancing with me. I feel inner peace. Such a powerful experience!

At the first Shaktipat Intensive I attended, I heard the story of Krishna and his disciple, Arjuna. I remember that a divine unrest began inside me. I shed tears, and I didn’t know why. In time to come, I would familiarize myself more with the story of Krishna and Arjuna. I listened to the chant Krishna Govinda on tape, and it seemed as if the heavens had opened so wide.

I am so very happy to celebrate Krishna’s birthday, chanting with beloved Gurumayi, with this beloved chant, on this beloved path.

For me, chanting Krishna Govinda with Gurumayi is like bathing in a sea of ecstasy. With each repetition of the divine name and each round of the chant growing faster, I become more joyful. I can feel sweet Lord Krishna dancing around me, playing his flute.

As Krishna is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the sustainer and protector of the universe, I give thanks as I chant for all that is good in our world and in my life. I pray that this good be sustained and protected.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for inviting us to chant with you on this auspicious day, Lord Krishna’s birthday.

While chanting Krishna Govinda, I felt waves of sweetness move through my body. The cadence of the chant left me feeling quite ecstatic and very close to Gurumayi and the world as a whole. It was a welcome moment of respite and bliss. I found myself chanting it quietly throughout the day, and those moments too were like a healing balm.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for this wonderful reminder of the power of the practices.
