About Swami Shantananda
Swami Shantananda began his practice of the Siddha Yoga teachings in 1972 after receiving shaktipat initiation from Baba Muktananda in Gurudev Siddha Peeth, the Siddha Yoga Ashram in Ganeshpuri, India. Five years later, Swami ji took monastic vows to become a Siddha Yoga Swami.
Swami Shantananda is a Siddha Yoga meditation teacher who has taught in satsangs, courses, and Shaktipat Intensives throughout the world. He is the author of The Splendor of Recognition, an illuminating commentary on the Pratyabhijñā-hṛdayam, one of the key texts of Kashmir Shaivism. As a teacher, Swami ji is known for his vast and deep knowledge of India’s scriptures as well as his lighthearted manner of imparting this wisdom to students.
