For more than a decade I have been practicing Surya Namaskar every day for fifty rounds. In challenging and in busy times, this practice keeps me grounded and connected with my Self no matter what is happening. I used to do this practice as just a workout routine. Now, by connecting to the essence of this practice through the teachings on the Siddha Yoga path website, I do it with deep understanding—knowing it is not just for the body, but also food for the soul. I experience that inner knowledge is being revealed through this practice.

On the inhalation, inspiration. On the exhalation, expression of love in every cell. Fresh new start. Stretch and feel better. Salutations, O salutations, to the luminous One.

Salutations to this day and to the divine experience of Surya Namaskar. After I viewed the lovely asanas, an amazing, pulsating light arose in my heart and radiated in concentric circles until it encompassed my entire being.

Thank you, Gurumayi, for taking us from one moment of bliss to another as we celebrate your birth. I hear Baba’s laughter and feel the delight of the sangham.

I have been practicing Surya Namaskar for the past six years, doing several repetitions each day. There are times when due to work or travel I find it difficult to follow my routine, and the feeling of incompletion remains with me. As I watch this video, I receive it as a reminder from Gurumayi to return to my routine with faith and determination.

    Thank you, Gurumayi.
