“Season’s Greetings” for 2023 resonated deeply with me, sparking a newfound clarity on the purpose of my life. For me, the rhythmic beating of the drum symbolized the act of creation, of universal Consciousness taking form. As I watched the flames, I understood that Consciousness remains fundamentally the same as it takes individual forms. This realization instills in me a sense of perfectness and wholeness in my heart as I recognize divinity pervading all beings. With my mind focused on the defining quality of this cosmic force, the feeling of differences dissolves, and my heart overflows with love for myself and everything around.
As I embrace the profound truth of existence, I acknowledge that my life’s purpose is rooted in embodying and sharing the boundless fountain of love unconditionally. I will endeavor to make all efforts to keep this intention in my awareness.

When I watched the “Season’s Greetings” video, I experienced that the flowers represented the embodiment of light, love, and peace. It seemed to me that their sparks were spreading the fragrance and light of the Self to every corner of the world.

When I watched “Season’s Greetings” with my husband, he pointed out that the lamps are from different traditions and cultures around the world. We enjoyed trying to figure out which culture or part of the world each lamp was from. For me, the flowers lighting the lamps represented peoples’ pure hearts and good actions. It made me think that as each person—from all over the planet and from every culture—gives the fragrance of their heart to the world around them, this brings light as well as blessings and healing.

As I looked and listened today, I was drawn to the fire which cleanses and purifies, to the dancing flame which to me felt like the dance of Consciousness. Lord Ganesha, showering his blessings amid a thousand stars, and the pulsing Om remind me to breathe and remain steady, to be patient.
And those beautiful hearts—the merging of Consciousness. Today, for the first time, I noticed they flow both ways, up and down. It felt like an extra special blessing, like bathing in the love of the Siddhas, feeling their protection. It felt like rebirth.
I thank Gurumayi for her wonderful light in my life.

As I saw the image of Om pulsating in Gurumayi’s “Season’s Greetings,” I remembered a meditation experience I had just a few days ago during my first Pilgrimage to the Heart Retreat. As I followed the breath in my inner sky, I could see the top of my head filled with Om—a large symbol in the center and many smaller ones throughout the whole space. I distinctly saw a subtle blue light shining from the dot in the large Om symbol, giving this whole region a soft blue hue. The most comforting hum of Om resounded throughout this inner sky. I felt absolute perfection.

I watch Gurumayi’s “Season’s Greetings” every morning. I feel great joy and gratitude as I experience the love and blessings again and again. While watching Gurumayi’s beautiful, loving “Season’s Greetings,” I sensed the petals of my heart lotus opening. I understood that each flower in the video represents a heart—the one Heart, the anahata chakra. It has the power to ignite the flame of love and peace in others and in all there is. The Heart is only giving without asking for anything back. For me, it is the divine vision of oneness. I’m aware that the Heart is so radiant that it burns away all illusions of differences.

I am fascinated by the image of the breathing circular mandala. I experience it as being alive, like a sentient being, or like the great Mother enfolding us all in her universal embrace.

What touched me the most in watching this beautiful video was the lighting of lamps in so many different ways, reflecting different cultures around the world. The same love ignites in our hearts no matter who we are or where we live. And so I visit the “Season’s Greetings” video each day and experience something new: the various lamps, representing different traditions and communities; the textured music eliciting joy; the breathing mandala of Om’s; the starlit Lord Ganesha; and the tumbling hearts at the end, effusive in their movement. I was filled with joy to see this “Season’s Greetings” gift from Gurumayi. The sounds and moving images in this video took me back to December 1989 when I sent Gurumayi a red heart with the words Jyota se Jyota Jagao on it, asking the Guru to light the flame of my heart with her flame. All these years later, I feel that my flame is not only still alight, but that it continues to intensify. In fact, I feel more and more of the Guru’s love.

As the lamps were being lit in this beautiful video, I kept thinking about the hymn, Jyota se Jyota Jagao—"Light my lamp from your lamp.”
Also, the wonderful variety of lamps seemed to me to represent the wonderful variety of Siddha Yogis around the world—with the Guru’s grace taking the perfect form to kindle the love in each heart.

The first time that I watched this powerful video, I thought that the sparks from each flower, lighting the lamps or candles, were so beautiful. But then, when the flower lit the eight-branched menorah, I realized that for me, there was more to it than just what I was seeing.
So, I watched the video again. As I did so, I felt that each flower’s spark represented Gurumayi’s love. Every time these sparks of love lit a candle or lamp, I felt that they were igniting the love in my own heart.
I also experienced that the mandala made up of many Om signs, with one central Om in the middle, felt like Gurumayi gathering together the Siddha Yoga sangham from all over the world. At the end of the video, I felt the Guru’s love pulsating in my heart.
So, I watched the video again. As I did so, I felt that each flower’s spark represented Gurumayi’s love. Every time these sparks of love lit a candle or lamp, I felt that they were igniting the love in my own heart.
